December was a very busy month. With christmas parties and birthday parties and Christmas we had very little time to relax let alone breathe. We started with our little angel turning the BIG 5. She wanted a Christmas themed party and even wanted to invite Santa Claus (he was very busy with Christmas coming and all). She did have a very successful party and a very different kind of Cake. Cake is not really the word for it more like tiered plates of brownies. brownies are her favorite dessert, not cake.
We had a week that included about 6 christmas parties and by the end we were partied out. Leland started crawling and got his first shiner a week before Christmas from falling on the hard wood floor, not from what many may tend to assume (Ha Ha). We spent the next week helping Santa Claus deliver candy canes to the citizens of Ione behind the Fire Truck. Both Alexis and Leland were very hard working troopers walking a long way each night with smiles on their faces spreading joy in the city. Darci worked hard to keep Christmas on time and enjoyable. This year seemed to go by very fast.
Melanie was able to make a trek to visit us for Christmas. And on Christmas Eve we had Brad, Jeannie, Alyssa, and Brooke come over for dinner and cookie decorating for Santa and a few gifts. Nice and low key.
The next morning we had a full house. We had our two kids with Melanie, Greg, and even aunt Paula stopped by for breakfast and presents. Alexis came running in early on Christmas morning after scoping out the tree and seeing what Santa had dropped off. After unloading the tree and a few minutes of rest we headed off to Placerville for our anual Christmas taco dinner at grandpa and grandma Wills. tired and all gifted out we slept well that night.
Friday was a first for a few of us. We met up with Brad and his family and went Ice skating for the first time. After a few minutes with dad, Alexis was off on her own making friends and skating like a pro. Now with Christmas week coming to and end we are preparing for Grandpa and Grandma Harmon's visit on New Years. Like I said we've had a busy month.
