Sweet bedtime

I have always loved listening to children pray but when it is my own child praying I'm filled with sweet pride. I am often waiting in anticipation for what Alexis will say to her Father in Heaven. Tonight was cute and worth recording. We had just arrived home from a 2 week vacation to Washington where my sister lives but especially where Alexis's best friend in the whole world lives, her cousin Sophia. Her prayer was as follows;
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank Thee that we could go to Washington. Thank Thee that we can go again. Thank Thee that we can collect lots of bottles and cans to go again. Bless that I can get a dolphin for a pet. Bless me to get a rainbow Unicorn for another pet. Bless that sharks won't get too hungry and eat people if they have too. In the name . . . . Amen.
What an imagination. She cannot wait until the Second Coming so she can swim with sharks and they won't bite her. I love that she is praying to return to Washington already but I think I need to teach her a better way to save money other than collecting bottles and cans. We shall work on that.
But to top it all off, the bedtime story she wanted to read was the scrapbook that my sister-in-law Tammy made for us about our trip to Nauvoo 2 summers ago. She just wanted to see all her cousins and recall all the good memories she has with them. Thanks again Tammy for preserving those memories for us. Family is truly one of the most important things in my life and I can see it is becoming so for Alexis also. That makes me so happy.
